What this converter does
ASS (Advanced SubStation Alpha) files carry fonts, colours, positions and karaoke effects in override blocks like {\an8\b1}. Most upload forms want plain SRT. This converter reads the [Events] section by its own Format line, keeps commas in the text, turns \N into real line breaks, removes the styling and sorts the cues by time.

Will styling be kept?
No. SRT has no styling; the text and timing are kept exactly.

Comment lines are skipped; only Dialogue lines become captions.
